You Made the Difference

FCMS founders, families, friends, alumni, and board members past and present, we have accomplished a monumental feat! What started as a dream to establish a tuition-free public Montessori school in the Poudre School District is now a vibrant reality.

In 2014, FCMS opened its first classrooms in the annex of a local church. Six years later, we celebrated the opening of our very own campus! Achievements like this don’t just happen. The vision and passion of the FCMS founders inspired others to join the cause with energy, determination and passion. To each one who was a part of building this dream, thank you! You have made a difference in the lives of hundreds of children in our community and proven that, when united for a good cause, a collective can make great things can happen.

What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead. – Nelson Mandela

Our Bright Future

Another Big Give season is here and we hope we can count on your continued support of FCMS. Looking to the future, our intentions are to continue to grow our campus, offer tuition assistance for low income preschool families, compensate our teachers and staff fairly with competitive salaries and training, and continue to thrive in the midst of this pandemic. You can make a difference in all these things by sharing your time and talents as a volunteer and giving of your treasure with a financial gift. Let’s keep the momentum going as a committed community and a school growing individuals for bright futures!

The Big Give 2021

This 2021 Big Give will run February 14 – May 7, giving families and friends a wide open window in which to make a gift. The challenge is to raise $40,000 with 100% FCMS family participation. As is always the case, our collective buy-in is sure to inspire other individuals, businesses, philanthropists, and families to join the cause.

Replenishing the General Fund

Funds generated from this year’s Big Give are being directed to the General Fund. Through the General Fund, FCMS will be able to maintain staff pay and teacher development, make up for tuition not collected as a result of pandemic tuition reductions, provide tuition assistance, and continue to grow. Your gift will have a direct impact on the lives of our students and their families, our teachers and staff, and children in the greater Fort Collins community.

Your Gift Matters

  • $10 buys 150 pencils for students.
  • $50 purchases a set of bead chains for a classroom.
  • $100 would purchase 20 students a starfish to dissect.
  • $200 expands a classroom library by 15 books.
  • $500 could support our office staff with an ergonomic chair.
  • $2,000 makes up the difference in revenue not generateddue to a reduced-tuition spot.

Let’s Get Creative

The pandemic we are in has hit some of our families and friends exceptionally hard. Though the Big Give is about giving financially, we invite those in a tight spot to give by way of getting involved and/or joining the FCMS Parent Volunteer Committee. For those able to give monetarily, be assured that all contributions—big and small—are important and valued!

Another way to support The Big Give is by sharing it with your friends and family. The Go Fund Me giving platform makes campaign social sharing easy! Also, check with your employer to see if they will match your gift. Contact your Human Relations Department to find out. As a registered 501(c)3 non-profit, charitable donations to FCMS are tax deductible.
