EXTRACURRICULARS

Extracurricular Programs: 

Registration for our extracurricular programs is now open! 

These will be weekly lessons, and the registration information for each program is stated below. You are welcome to register for whichever and as many as you’d like. The cost for each program varies. Every program follows our school calendar and will break for our school breaks. 

If you want to register for these programs, you must be enrolled in our Aftercare Program (AC) on the correlating day. When you register your student for AC, they will be able to take advantage of the AC program on the days they are enrolled. Our aftercare program runs from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. When your student is dismissed from their classroom, they can be part of AC before and/or after their extracurricular program. This will provide flexibility in your schedule as the parent/guardian and give your students more engaging experiences in their day. 

Invoices will be sent directly from the specific extracurricular companies. Aftercare tuition invoices will be sent through Procare from FCMS. If you choose to enroll in these programs, you will receive a confirmation email with more detailed information about the billing process.

Each program will have a different amount of students they can enroll. This means there will be limited spots available for each program. Please keep this in mind when deciding when to register your student. All programs will be hosted here at FCMS.

Every program will have different approaches, and some may require more at-home practice. Each specific program’s website has excellent resources about the time required to be most successful. These programs will only be offered to Kindergarten, lower, and upper elementary students for now. We want to continue to grow these programs in the future, but for now, your child must be in Kindergarten or older to participate in these programs.

Here is what FCMS will be offering in our Aftercare Programs this Semester: 

Mondays: 

Wild Roots Art Classes:

Join Wild Roots Studio for an after-school art club on Mondays at Fort Collins Montessori School. This workshop series will be a place for creative young artists to meet after school and explore themselves and the world around them through art. Each week we will make art using many different mediums including drawing, painting, fibers, and sculpture. Our classes aim to strengthen children’s connection to the environment by using nature as a subject and medium for their artwork. The cost is $108 for each session and each session is 4 weeks. They will provide a healthy snack for each student. 

When: Mondays 3:30 to 5:30

Cost: FCMS AC $79.00+ $108 Program Fee Per Session (4 weeks session) = Total: $187 a month

Wednesdays: 

Violin Lessons: 

Students will have hands-on experience to learn the basics of the violin. The students will learn of the parts of the violin, proper posture, how to play essential tunes, and how instruments are built. Violins will be brought in for students to use during lessons, and they have various sizes. I have a unique approach to the Suzuki Method and have maintained a private violin & fiddle studio for 25-35 students in Fort Collins since 2015. I have monthly family events that help showcase what each student is learning. These courses are a good starting point for this semester, and I will continue to adapt the program as we progress. I went to Montessori school, and I am grateful to be able to pass this opportunity on to my child.

Thursdays: 

Piano and Guitar Institute (piano lessons):

Teaches students to read music using a multiple-key approach emphasizing recognition of intervals rather than names of notes. After mastering knowledge of the significant scales, students are then ready to play with any key. This program is a program that will run throughout the school year, and these lessons will build onto each other. By the end of the year, students will have a foundation of piano knowledge and be able to play fundamental songs. This program does request practicing at home to help your student be successful and have proper progression. Keyboards will be provided for each student to use during the lessons here at FCMS.

When: Thursdays 3:30 - 5:30

Uno1Dos2Tres3:

Learning Spanish has never been so much fun! Our Let's Play Spanish School Club is packed with interactive games, songs and stories that allow students to experience language in a completely comprehensible, fun, and engaging way. Designed for beginners, these classes will provide your kids with the basic concepts and vocabulary to get started in their journey to learn Spanish while fostering an enthusiasm for language learning. Uno1 Dos2 Tres3 Español Without Stress. Our goal is simple - to make language learning fun for kids and adults alike. Founded and operated by two dedicated Colombian moms it is our dream to help others develop a love for our beautiful language and a deep appreciation for our vibrant hispanic culture. Come, join our familia!

K World Class Taekwondo:

We help students learn valuable life skills they will use for the rest of their lives. We do this by creating a positive, hard-working environment and by having instructors who serve as role models for young people to look up to. In doing all of this, we contribute to a safe and peaceful community as well.
