The Big Give 2018-2019

Fort Collins Montessori School’s annual giving campaign—The Big Give—runs October 12-26, 2018. We ask that you consider all that FCMS means to you, our children and our community. Contemplate the unique education and joy of learning it is instilling in our youth.

A gift to FCMS supports the growth and development of every student and will ensure that the spirit and mission of FCMS continues to soar!

Charter public schools like Fort Collins Montessori School (FCMS) are built by impassioned families and community leaders who come together to offer something that traditional schools do not. The families and friends involved in the early years of a charter school are the initiators—they are the backbone and driving force that ensure its success.

YOU are these families and friends.

For many, FCMS is a dream school. Montessori ignites drive, is a safe haven, and incorporates creativity and kindness in its curriculum. Whatever your reason for supporting FCMS, there is no denying that it is an exceptional opportunity for children in the Poudre School District.

It’s time to build.

For charter schools, the reality is that every year there is a funding gap between what the state and local school district provides and total day-to-day operating expenses. At FCMS, this gap is met with preschool and kindergarten (half day is free) tuition, grassroots fundraising efforts, and gifts from parents, friends and philanthropists.

The most sizeable hurdle for any young charter school is securing a permanent facility. Over the past four years, families and friend have helped amass over $200,000 for our future campus. The great news is that only $50,000 more is required to secure a loan to purchase property and open a facility in August 2020.

With our goal of a facility in sight, this year’s Big Give challenge is 100% FCMS family participation and $20,000—or roughly $150 per student.

A financial gift demonstrates your commitment to FCMS and will inspire other individuals, businesses and philanthropists to join the cause.

If you are an FCMS family and a lump sum donation is not possible at this time, consider a recurring monthly gift of $15-20 per student, per month. While we know that not every family may have the resources to contribute $150 per pupil, we have confidence in averages. Some families will be able to give more, some not as much, but every family contributing helps toward the 100% mark!
