Montessori Adolescent Education Presentation – 9.13.17

On Wednesday Sept 13, from 6-8 PM in the Fellowship Hall at ICRC the Middle School Planning Committee is hosting a presentation on “Montessori Adolescent Education” by Hannah Ewert-Krocker, Rae Jones, and Kelli Bee .  Ms Ewert-Krocker and Ms Jones are Adolescent Guides at Denver Montessori Junior and High School, and Ms Bee is our Middle School Curriculum Specialist and Upper Elementary Assistant this year.

We would like our parents to be informed about what ‘middle school’ looks like for the typical Montessori student, and this special presentation marks the kick-off our of Parent Ed Series on Montessori Adolescent Education.  We will also share an outline of what the Middle School Planning Committee has done and plans to do to develop the middle school program at FCMS for 2018 and beyond.  Finally, our aim with this series is to support upper elementary parents in particular as their children are growing and developing toward adolescence, and as they make important choices about their education beyond Montessori elementary.
