FCMS B&AC Update Last week was full of interactive games that students decided to engage in! It was rainy on Tuesday, and the students wanted to make paper airplanes. Along with the paper airplanes, they also created a course that planes could fly through in our classrooms. It was a great way to get them up and moving, allowing them to explore engineering with planes and building a course. Later in the week, students used the patio outside the classroom to create their version of Cornhole. It was a great way to get everyone moving and use their math abilities to keep score. The students also enjoyed setting up their own soccer games on our soccer field. Playing these games of soccer helps them practice not only their soccer skills but also work on teamwork and team building. The students also made some fun crafts throughout the week. They used Shrink-a-dinks to create keychains they could put on their backpacks. The students also created rainmakers, which worked because we got rain on Tuesday! The students worked on making different beaded animals, fruit, and different everyday items. It is an excellent way to use their imagination to construct an object using abstract thinking. Extracurricular Enrichment Opportunity: Thank you to everyone who contacted me regarding different companies and organizations that would be excellent fits for our after-school extracurricular activities! I got in touch with some fantastic programs, and we are ironing out the fine details. Hopefully soon, I will be able to give everyone more specific information about these programs and how you can enroll your child(ren). We are very excited, and I will let you know when the programs are more set in stone. Doorbell Activated: On Thursday, we got the doorbell up and running on our iPad. This means you can now ring the doorbell when you come to drop off or pick up your child. Please be patient because this is a new system. If for some reason we are not answering the doorbell, call the school, and we will be happy to assist you. Registration: If you would like to enroll in our Before and After Care Program, please fill out the registration form: https://forms.gle/SYggx3L23fG4TKQs5 . My email is [email protected] , and I would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have. Thank you, Sara Robertson Before and After School Director [email protected] Have a wonderful week! Sara
